Project Leader, The Cornish Charity Ball, Falmouth University, UK

The Cornish Charity Ball raised £550 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust. The evening included a three-course meal, a raffle, musical entertainment, goodie bags and a guest talk from Paula Martin, Chef Executive of the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Project Leader roles:

  •  Created written event project plan covering all major areas including event feasibility, marketing strategy, logistics, health and safety, legalities, stakeholder management, human recourse management, sponsorship and evaluation.
  • Stakeholder management: Developed relationships and gained donations from various local businesses for the raffle, including Merchants Manor Hotel, Rebel Brewery & The Cold Brew Coffee Co.
  • Promotion and Marketing: Attended the Falmouth Business Breakfast to promote the event to the local business community and undertook interviews on Source FM and BBC Radio Cornwall.

Main roles at event:

  • Stakeholder management: liaised with hotel staff, volunteers, entertainers, guest speaker and event team. Gave welcome and closing speeches. Ran logistics and ensured the event kept to schedule.

Isabelle made excellent use of a range of media to raise the profile of the event and help generate ticket sales and corporate support and sponsorship. During the event, Isabelle acted as Master of Ceremonies and project-managed a team of colleagues.

Isabelle’s natural flair and personality kept the atmosphere during the evening of dinner and entertainment perfect for encouraging guests to enjoy themselves. Isabelle and her team delivered a well-planned, and properly organised event.
